About Our Team
We Are Wired-Up!
A FIRST Robotics Competition team from Dakota Ridge High School in Littleton, Colorado. Since 2006, we've been building robots, engineers, and leaders.
Who We Are
Team 1799 Wired-Up! is a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team based at Dakota Ridge High School in Littleton, Colorado. Founded in 2006, we are one of the longest-running FRC teams in the region, with over two decades of designing, building, and competing with custom robots.
We're more than a robotics team — we're an incubator for the next generation of engineers, programmers, designers, and business leaders. Every season, FIRST releases a new game challenge and our students have just six weeks to design, fabricate, program, and test a robot capable of competing alongside teams from across the world.
Our program is entirely student-driven. Members manage everything from CAD design and CNC machining to software development, electrical wiring, sponsorship, and media. Along the way, they gain real-world skills in engineering, project management, teamwork, and communication that prepare them for college and careers.
What We Do
Our team is organized into specialized sub-teams, giving every student a place to grow their skills and contribute to the mission.
Mechanical
Designs and builds the robot chassis, drivetrain, and mechanisms using hand tools, power tools, and CNC machining.
Wiring
Routes and solders the electrical system, connecting motors, sensors, pneumatics, and the robot control board.
Code
Writes the robot software in Java/C++, developing autonomous routines and driver-control logic.
CAD
Models every robot part in 3D CAD before fabrication, ensuring precise fit and manufacturability.
Fabrication & CNC
Machines custom parts on the CNC router and mill, turning CAD models into real components.
Business
Manages sponsorships, budgets, outreach, and team operations that keep the program running.
Media
Produces photography, video, graphics, and the team website to share our story with the world.
